Asian Poker Tour

The opening leg of this yearʼs Asian Poker Tour has just recently been completed, and the
proud winner of the $280,000 prize went to Australian David Saab. Many Australian
supporters were on hand to watch their fellow countryman in action and were delighted to
see him scoop the first prize.
The heads up battle was played against Korean player Chris Roh who took away
$150,000 in prize money for going out in second. 316 players took part in this event which
ran from 27th May until 1st June in The Dusit Thani Manila in the Philippines. Organizers
of the event commented on how delighted they were with the event and the large turnout
of supporters. They expressed their wish to return next year to repeat the 6 day event.
The tour will continue on and will be in Macau from 26 until 31 August which is expected to
attract around 500 players. It is to be held in the StarWorld Hotel and Casino. Following on
from here the next stop will be Seoul in South Korea and then finally on to Singapore
where the APT tour culminates. Incidentally Singapore was the venue for the inaugural
Asian Poker Tour event back in 2006.
