This popular tournament has returned and was recently played out in all its bigger and
better glory. The format had been slightly changed this year and there was an improved
qualifications structure allowing more players to qualify, but in addition, the biggest
alteration was the final table play being played out live on board a luxury cruise ship
departing from Barcelona and stopping in Nice and Ibiza. Players plus one guest each
were all flown out to join the ship and compete for their share of the $1,000,000 prize pool.
The eventual winner was a Spaniard by the name of Ismael Arribas Munoz who as
promised was flown to join the other final table that consisted of four players from
Germany, two from France, two from the Netherlands and one from Sweden. It was the
younger members at the table that took the top three spots, with Munoz winning $200,000
in prize money. Second place went to Dutch-born Wing Kwok Tang who took away
$120,000, and third place of $90,000 went to one of the French contingent, Brice Cousin.
It was a fantastic event that Everest Poker were thrilled with. It will certainly be repeated
next year and no doubt Munoz will be back to defend his title.
