Martin Klaser winner of WSOP Event 43
(June 27)
Martin Klaser has just been crowned the winner of the event number 43, the $1500 Pot-
Limit Omaha Hi/Low and received his very first World Series of Poker bracelet. He was by
no means the favourite to win as he faced stiff competition from the like of Erik Seidel and
was certainly not one of the chip leaders as the players entered the final stages, however
he managed to outlast the 719 other players to claim his prize.
This event lasted for 3 whole days, but the grueling event was well worth it for Klaser who
won $216,249 in prize money. His heads up play was incredible as he managed to totally
dominant his opponent, Casey Kastle, by winning 16 of the 19 heads up hands. His
performance was exemplary and Kastle was unable to close the gap in the stacks until he
eventually had to concede defeat.
Klaser is a young player from Germany and has seen success in Europe so far. No doubt
this win signals the start of a very long and undoubtedly lucrative poker career through
which we will be seeing a lot more of him in future.
