Phil Ivey to host charity poker event

On Tuesday, July 1 at 8:00 p.m. world renowned poker player Phil Ivey will be hosting a
no-limit Texas holdʼem poker tournament in aid of his charity, The Budding Ivey
Foundation. The recommended buy-in for the event is a reasonable $1000, and there will
also be $500 worth of re-buys available as well as an additional last minute re-buy of 2
times the starting stack.
The Budding Ivey Foundation is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing
educational opportunities as well as empowering at-risk children and their families to
believe, achieve, and succeed. At the moment, the foundation is focusing raising funds for
Empowered 2 Excel which saw its childrenʼs academy in North Las Vegas close due to
lack of funds. Ivey is hoping to see those doors open again.
The tournament will be held at the Golden Nugget which is the largest hotel casino in
downtown Las Vegas. It will be held in conjunction with the Budding Ivey Game Night
Celebration and the World Series Barbeque. The tournament is open to the public.
