Pros continue to scoop the bracelets

It seems to be all about the pros this year at the World Series. John Phan is the latest pro
to win his first World Series bracelet by taking down event number 29, the $3000 no-limit
holdʼem event. Erick Lindgren, Daniel Negreanu and David Singer are two other pros that have both had
successful tournaments and walked away with their first bracelets. Phan was by no means
the chip leader on the final table, but managed to outlast the other players to eventually
take on Johnny Neckar in a heads up fight.
The pair battled on for 6 hours, and eventually agreed to play their hands all-in, BLIND! A
brave move to say the least! The first blind hand that was played saw Neckar double
through on Phan. The players agreed to do it twice more, both times it was Phan who took
down the pots, giving him a substantial chip lead. Play eventually went back to normal, but
with Phanʼs massive advantage, it didnʼt take long for him to eventually defeat Necker. It
would have been very exciting to watch, just proving that poker really is an exciting
spectator sport!
Phan took away the first prize of $434,789 with Neckar walking away with a slightly more
modest, but nonetheless handsome $277,452.
