Celebrities at the WSOP Main Event

There are always a handful of celebrities that take off to the Main Event in Las Vegas to
take their shot at the multi-million dollar prize, and this year is no exception.
Some are very accomplished players such as Shannon Elizabeth and Jennifer Tilly who
has seen some good wins and solid play over the past few years. Others head there for a
bit of media attention and some just play for a fun.
This year the usual smattering of actors, musicians and actors have entered the Main
Event. Forrest Griffin entered on Day 1D having 24 hours earlier been crowned the lightheavyweight
champion at a nearby venue. Despite the bruises he pressed on but sadly
was eliminated on the first day. Chuck Liddell the martial art fighter was also eliminated the
same day.
Jason Alexander, Jennifer Tilly, Shannon Elizabeth and Sam Simon all sat down this year
however Shannon Elizabeth is the only player to remain and go through to day 2. Jason
Alexander is another WSOP favourite but he too has already been eliminated. Ray
Romano will be joining Shannon Elizabeth for day 2 as he made it through.
As for athletes, Orel Hershiser, David Well, Jose Canseco played and Australianʼs Shane
Warne who is the Michael Jordan of the cricket world were also there. Warne was
delighted to survive day 1 and so will be going forward into the next round.
