WSOP Nearing an End

Thatʼs right, this yearʼs WSOP has nearly sadly nearly finished. Event number 53 the
$1500 No Limit Holdʼem has been won by Matt Graham who has had an incredible run this
year at the WSOP and had already finished deep in the money in two events before he
even sat down for this tournament.
823 started in this event with 90 going through onto round 2. Play was long and
exhausting with the 90 being whittled down very slowly. Eventually the final table was
formed and play commenced. Eventually all but Graham and Jean-Robert Bellande were
eliminated who began heads up play. Graham played a very aggressive style and after a
long hard battle was eventually able to overcome his talented opponent to take first prize,
the glory, the bracelet and $278,180 in prize money. The runner-up Bellande took away
$173,564 and although was pipped at the post was still pleased to have made it onto the
final table which was something he had not achieved before despite success in a variety of
tournaments. The very final event, the grand finale Main Event is shortly to kick off. As
