20 Poker Champions to the APPT

August 25, 2008

The second run of the Pokerstars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour is starting on September 1st. The 9 day event is being held at the Waldo Casino in Macau in the Peopleʼs Republic of China. It has just been announced that 20 top poker pros and icons will be hitting the felt for the opening of the event. It is expected that around 500 players will be competing for the top prize, making the event the largest in Asia.

With players such as Johnny Chan, Joe Hachem, Scotty Nguyen, Men 'The Master' Nguyen and Barry Greenstein taking part, this is surely to provide an even bigger boost to the already anticipated tournament. Included in the schedule is the $25,000 HKD buy-in Main Event ($3,200) and the "high roller" event with a buy-in of $150,000 HKD ($19,250). Both televised events have a guaranteed minimum prize pool of $10M HKD which is sure to be hotly pursued by all those competing.
