ChanPoker to Close

The poker site fronted by 10 time bracelet WSOP winner Johnny Chan has announced its
closure effective as of 21st August. Opening amidst a great fanfare back in 2006, it was
set to do extremely well, but this was not to be.
Throughout the 2006 WSOP the site maintained a very high profile as well as holding a
booth throughout the lifestyle expo that same year. Unfortunately for ChanPoker, the
legislation that was passed a few months later in the US that essentially banned online
poker to all of USA meant it was unable to sustain its success. As one of the newest and
flashiest sites to come onto the market, it was really effected by the change in the market.
Wanting to honour its customers player points, ChanPoker is seeking a different online poker site
to take over its poker database. Players are to watch this space for an update on this.
