LAPT Punta del Este
August 9, 2008
The Latin America Poker Tour is now in full swing and stopped off at Punta del Este
yesterday in Uruguay. Itʼs 3rd stop on the tour, poker pros and keen amateurs joined
together to take part and go for a shot at the $851,175 prize pool.
Greg Raymer was involved as was Barry Grrenstein, Chad Brown, Vanessa Rousso and
one of the WSOP final tablists at this yearʼs event, David Rheem. Rheem of course will be
using this as practice for when the final 9 players return to play the final table of the
WSOP in November.
Both Rheem however and Barry Greenstein were eliminated on Day 1. Daniel Palsson
caught a pair on the river to remove Rheem, and Teddy Peterson took Greenstein out of
the competition with his pocket Aces overpowering Greensteinʼs pocket 10s. Brandon
Cantu and EPT San Remo champ Jason Mercier were also out by the end of Day 1.
95 players made it through Day 1 with Carter Gill as chip leader. Players return today to
continue and we will keep you posted with the results!
