Day 1B of World Series Of Poker Europe

September 22nd, 2008

Flight B took off recently with a fresh field of 219 players commencing battle for the much desired £144,218 first prize at the WSOPE being held in London. The day moved quickly with all by 46 players being eliminated.

Some big names hit the rail during the day including Phil Hellmuth, Dave Ulliott, Michael Greco and Allen Cunningham who will all be disappointed no doubt with their losses. Even John Phan who has seen some tremendous success recently will not see day 2 as his chip stack was eaten away gradually throughout the second part of the first day. Eventually having his AQ beaten by a pair of Kings, Phan exited the tournament.

Out of the 46 survivors from day 1B combined with the 42 remaining from day 1A the leaderboard is as follows:

Adam Junglen 84,200
Daniel Negreanu 74,900
Daniel Nutt 74,500
Jason Gray 72,800
Remy Biechel 65,500
James Akenhead 58,800
Costas Artemi 57,300
David La Ronde 57,000
Brandon Cantu 54,200
Salim Ghozali 52,700

There is sure to be some gripping play on day 2 and we will be sure to bring you all the updates.
