European Poker Barcelona
September 15th, 2008
Sebastican Ruthenberg has triumhed at the European Poker Tour event.
The young player started in a strong position at the final table, although he was not chip
leader at this Barcelona Open. After 8 hours of exceptional play, the pro had managed to
outlast all of his opponents to take the glory and the €1,361,000 prize. Previously coming
third at an EPT event, this was certainly his best performance to date.
This comes in the same year as he took his first WSOP bracelet which he gained a few
months ago. Delighted is an understatement for the talented player!
The final table positions looked like this:
Seat 1: Martin Nielsen (Denmark) 1,229,000
Seat 2: Davidi Kitai (Belgium) 600,000
Seat 3: Dren Ukella (Germany) 734,000
Seat 4: Jason Mercier (United States) 526,000
Seat 5: Samuel Chartier (Canada) 879,000
Seat 6: Daniele Mazzia (Italy) 359,000
Seat 7: Fintan Gavin (Ireland) 701,000
Seat 8: Sebastian Ruthenberg (Germany) 1,204,000
Fintan Gavin went heads up against Ruthenberg but couldnʼt survive. Severely lacking in
chips, it didnʼt take long for Ruthenberg to eliminate his final competitor. Gavin took away
€792,000 for second place.
