Legends of Poker Winner is John Phan

September 2nd, 2008

It seems John Phanʼs winning streak is not letting up as he has just won yet another prestigious event. The Legends of Poker Championship is a tough nut to crack, but through an enormous amount of skill, Phan was able to outlast the formidable field and walk away with over $1,000,000.

2008 has been an extraordinary year so far for Phan who won the $3,000 No Limit Hold ʻem event for $439k and the $5,000 2-7 Triple Draw event for $151k in this yearʼs World Series of Poker. The runner up at the legends of poker was Amit Makhijah who put up a very tough fight right through until the end. Despite coming into the heads up with half the number of chips as Phan, he played well and clawed his way back. It was not be his win though however, and Phan eventually was able to seal the deal. Makhijah left with $563,720.
