The Partouche Poker Tour, Cannes
September 12th, 2008
The battle was long and tough, but the $1,426,645 reward was well worth it. The
Partouche Poker Tour Main Event being held in Cannes has just been won by French
player Alain Roy.
The starting field was incredibly strong with Scotty Nguyen, Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey and
Tiffany Michelle. Roy was heads up against Claudio Rinaldi. This part of the overall battle
however was only to last three hands as Roy took advantage of his 8 to 1 chip lead over
his opponent. Rinaldi walked away with $729,158 as runner up.
Day three was a trial lasting for 15 hours. Gus Hansen was eliminated at the end of the
day, just missing out on the final table. The final table consisted of Stephane Bazin,
Philippe Narboni, Brice Cournut, Jean Philippe Rohr, Claudio Rinaldi, Anthonin Teisseire
and Michel Abecassis.
Abecassis was short stacked so quickly hit the rail. Cournut was next to be taken down,
followed swiftly by Rohr in 6th place. Narboni was out next, then Bazin and Tesseire took
3rd. Congratulations to all the winners.
