APPT New Zealand gets local winner
October 15th, 2008
The APPT (Asian Pacific Poker Tour) landed in New Zealand for the first time and after three days of competing with stars like Joe Hacham and Greg Raymer it was a New Zealand amateur that took down the title.
Daniel Craker was the lucky guy that got into the tournament via the last ever satellite offered at the SkyCity Pokerroom. And he won the majestic sum of over $250.000 NZ for just his $80NZD buy in in the satellite.
Despite being outchipped when the final day started behind Local competitor Luke Stanford and the favorite to win, Singapore's own Nathanael Seet, Daniel Craken had a remarkable day including hitting two pair with K-2.
On the final table the play was fierce until there where only 4 players left.
When Craken his 2-2 help up against A-9 the first ever APPT New |Zealand winner was crowned.
Next stop will be Manilla in the Fillipines and it promises to be another fine spectacle to watch. You can find the news right here.
