Day of Reckoning for Online poker??

October 16th, 2008

Today will be a big day for online poker the world over.
With a bit of luck the courts in mighty America will decide if The State of Kentucky can take control of 141 online gaming sites. These sites include a few well known poker sites like Ultimate Bet and Cake Poker.

In short, the State of Kentucky finds poker illegal and filed injunctions to seize control over these websites.
Even though the poker sites are regulated by the Kahwanakee gaming commission and completely legal in all they do this lawsuit was filed and even though the outcome was supposed to be on Tuesday, it will now be on Wednesday.

Well informed sources have stated that Ultimate Bet will not seize to operate as they will just change websites and will appeal the verdict if it goes against them. Kahwanakee Gaming council also will appeal if the verdict goes against the gaming websites.
Not known yet is whether The State of Kentucky might appeal if they will loose.
As soon as the news is in, you will hear it hear so stay tuned.
