John “the razor“ Phan win “Bluff” Card Player of the year

As expected by most people, John “the Razor” Phan, was crowned this week as the worlds best player of 2008. The margin for victory was a little bit less then in the “cardplayer” awards, but still he held a commending advantage over Michael Binger who finished in second.
The most point John amassed where of course in the 2 bracelet events he won at the WSOP2008 and the WPT event “legends of poker” he won in August.
Michael Binger finished in second place even though this player is not as well known by the general public. Michael plays mainly side events at WPT events and the WSOP circuit events and he always runs well in the Wynn Classic.
Other names of fame in the top 10 include Jason Mercier (who won the “million” at the WSOPE) and Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier.
Stars like Erik Seidel and John Juanda finished just outside of the top 10 while WSOP maine Event finalists Peter Eastgate, Chino Rheem and Ivan Demidov finished in 24.22,29th position respectively.
Mike “the mouth” Matusow rounded off the top 30 and he could well be in the running next year for a top 10 finish if he gives his new look and style a follow up in 2009.
