WPT LA Poker Classic results in epic final

The first 3 hours brought no movement whatsoever and the tedious played continued even though the short stacks became really short stacked. At a certain stage the chipcounts where as follows in relation to the blinds:
Pat Walsh - 13BB
Chris Ferguson - 16BB
Cornel Andrew Cimpan - 22BB
Mike Sowers – 30BB
Bihn Nguyen - 30BB
Chris Karagulleyan - 31BB

On a 10-8-8 Chris Ferguson decided to call an all in from Cornel Andrew Cimpan with his AK, but he was behind against Cimpan his 4-4. The rest of the board brought no help and Chris “Jesus” was out in 6th.
Pat Walsh needed to go after another 75 min of play when his re raise call with A2 was far behind the AJ of Binh and no help arrived here either.
Chris Karagulleyan was next to go when Cimpan hit trips and when Mike Sowers left the table alter 115 hands it was time for an epic heads up battle.

187 hands where needed to establish a winner and it must be said that Cimpan needed 4 lucky double ups to come through as the winner and even on the last hand he needed some luck when his K-5 was clearly behind Binh his A-9 but a 5 on the flop saw Cimpan take the lead and the $1.6 million in cash as well as an entry to the $25.000 final of the WPT season at the Bellagio in April.
