EPT Dortmund ends with a German clean sweep

The third last tournament on this seasons EPT ended with a surprising victory for Sandra Naujoks, who with that victory became Orly the second woman in the history of the EPT to win a main event. The first one was of course the English scarlet of poker, Vicky Coren.
It did not look like the Germans would have any influence on the outcome when the day started, because as mentioned, they were far behind in chips, but now the thirs victory for the Germans in season V of the EPT is a record equalled only by the Americans.
After an hour the first remarkable hand happened when Cengizcan Ulusu raised to 150.000 and when Mike McDonald re rasied all in for 540.000 the Turk that lives in Germany did something often spoken about in poker, but hardly ever done.
He took a coin from his pocket and threw it. After the coin landed a call was announced, but tis time it was not really a coin flip. His k-2 was far behind Mike his KK and no help on the flop meant that Cengizcan Ulusu was all in soon alter.
William Thorson who was out next when Holger Kanisch first beat Thorson his AK and one hand later beat him with AK.
Luca Pagano had to leave fo the rails in 6th place, but he established a record with his 10th EPT cash.
Chipleader at the start was Johan Storakers, btu he had not enough ammunition to outgun the Germans and he left in 4th after the defending champion Mike Mcdonald left in 5th place.
A deal was quickly done when 3 German players where left with just a small fraction left aside for the eventual champion.
It took nearly an hour to loose the third place finisher.
The heads up had some swings in it with Kanisch getting the chiplead back after losing with JJ vs AA, but in the end an A9 was enough for Sandra Naujoks to beat Holger Knisch his AQ when after an A on the flop the turn brought a 9.
