“Shooting Stars” drop like flies in WPT

50 players started out to be the bounty or so called “shooting stars” at the Bay 101 Shooting Stars Championship and only 4 will continue fighting it out for the $1million first prize.
21 of them showed up for the second day and Men “the master” Nguyen was the first of a long list of bounties that fell this day. Erick Lindgren was able to get his head with his straight against Men his 2 pair, but the next hand meant an early bath for Erick as well when his AA got cracked by Dan O’Brien his KK.
Bob Fox, Jennifer Harman against Paul Wasicka, Allen Cunningham vs. Kent Washington, T.J. Cloutier against Chris Moore, Eli Elezra and Faraz Jaka, Jonathan Little vs. Hoyt Corkins were other hands after which a “shooting star” bonus needed to get paid.
Howard Lederer lost with his 10-10 against Joe Sebok his JJ and that meant another Shooting Star vs Shooting Star victim”.
Anie Duke and Daniel Negreanu were gone shortly after and when Vince Shaw left the tournament in 46th place the bubble was broken.
After only 6 levels of play the final 36 players where known and they will fight it out another day.
There are only $20000 in “Shooting Star” bonus left and the chip leaders will definitely try to get this extra bonus in the next few hours.
