Full Tilt pro player Steve Brecher managed to last 12 hours on the final day to become the newest newcomer on the role of honour on the WPT.
Kathy Liebert was the last one of the “Shooting Stars” left, but she had to leave in second and still a cool $550.000, but so far no “Shooting Star” has managed to win the event.
After 11 hands two players where gone. First it was short stacked Chau Vu who went all in with A8 and ran into 88 with no help on the board and then it was Thao Le who ran into Kathy Liebert her AA when he held QQ.
More then 150 hands later when Tony Behari risked it all with his K8 against Liebert with 10-10.
Again no help and three handed play could begin.
Becher doubled up when he was the underdog against Liebert with his AQ against Ak, but an K-J-5-10 board saw him guaranteed with half of the pot. As the 7 came on the river he scooped all of it.
Chris Moore was quiet all the way, but he went all in on a low board with AK to be called by Becher with K3 and a flush draw and on the river it was time for Moore to leave the table and leave the fight to the big guns.
The heads up broke a new record as it lasted 319 hands and Liebert doubled through in an early hand with 44 against Q-10 on a Q-4-5 flop.
Hand 319 sawthe end when Liebert raised Steve went all in and got called quickly by Liebert With Q-10, but Becher showed A9 and he dodged flush draws on the turn and river to take home just over $1million
