$25K Heads-Up World Championship at Full Tilt Poker Day One

The top eight players in the tournament make money so four players have already made some money, but the remaining four players still need to battle it out with thousands on the line. The difference between first place and fourth place is pretty drastic and I’m sure that none of the four players are looking for anything less than first place.

Surprisingly enough the top poker players who probably had the best shot at winning the event were both knocked out early in the first round of the tournament. Phil Ivey and Gavin Smith both who are Full Tilt Team Pros were the first two players knocked out of the event yesterday. The two may of thought they could push the action around, but they quickly discovered this wasn’t going to happen.

In order to make it to the final four, players needed to win four heads-up matches and with a buy-in of $25K you can bet there were no new poker players competing in this event. It wasn’t an easy road for the four players who made it to the semi-finals, but they managed to battle out a tough playing field. The four players who will be sitting down today to complete the heads-up championship at Full Tilt Poker are as followed.

The four players will be fighting for the top four positions and depending on where they finish the four players have the chance at winning the following amounts of money.

First Place - $551,250 Second Place - $315,000 Third Place - $165,375 Fourth Place - $165,375
