Tom Dwan & Patrick Antonius Challenge Update

Tom Dwan and Patrick Antonius haven’t hit the poker tables for about a week now, but they finally played for another hour last night and added another 310 hands to the total making it at 13,556 hands of 50,000 hands. Tom Dwan came out the victor in this match-up after only playing for sixty minutes and managed to win $96,358 off of Patrick Antonius. Patrick Antonius still holds the lead in the overall challenge thus far by a margin of $391,704.
The two of them were planning too try and finish the challenge by the start of the World Series of Poker, but it doesn’t look like they will be able to finish since there is only a short time before the WSOP begins. With well over half of the challenge left to complete I can’t imagine how they will finish. Both of the players have mentioned that they will devote more time in the next week to playing some longer sessions, but even then I don’t think they can complete over 35K hands.
Throughout the sixty minutes of action there were several pots that reached over $100K and Tom won two of them whereas Patrick only won one. At the very beginning of the session Dwan lost his entire stack on a hand, but managed to fight back and win the session which he definitely needed too do. If Dwan wants to win this challenge he is going to need to win some more sessions like this one, but it definitely is doable as Tom proved yesterday.
