Eric Drache Leading the $10K Seven Card Stud World Championship

The $10K Seven Card Stud World Championships is the 6th event at the 2009 WSOP and plenty of the best poker players in the world made an appearance in the event. In all there were 142 players that entered the tournament and after the first two days of action there are only 11 players left fighting for the WSOP bracelet and the grand prize of a little over $350K.
Some of the players who busted out of the event on the second day of action consisted of Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Johnny Chan, Hoyt Corkins, Todd Brunson and John Juanda. As you can see the event featured many of the world’s best Holdem players, but they couldn’t make it to the top ten and were knocked out throughout the second day.
Eric Drache is the current chip leader with only 11 players left so he definitely has a great shot at keeping his lead and winning the bracelet although it won’t be easy. Daniel Negreanu and Hasan Habib are also still playing in the event so they will definitely be two players to watch today when the action resumes. David Oppenhiem who is one of the very best stud poker players in the world was doing great after day one, but was knocked out during the second day of action like many other top players.
Action will resume today at 1PM and there will be a winner crowned sometime tonight as the field is slimmed down to just one. Once two players are knocked out the players will be playing on the final table so make sure that you watch the action online at PKR if you’re not doing anything today. It probably won’t take long for two players to be knocked out of the event so be ready around 1PM EST if you want to watch the final table.
With Negreanu, Habib, Drache and several other top players still in the field it’s anyone’s tournament and the action should be great too watch as it unfolds.
