Roland de Wolfe Captures “The Missing Link” In the 27th WSOP Event
June 15, 2009
Roland de Wolfe has been pushing all month towards winning his first ever World Series of Poker bracelet and he has already made several very nice finishes, but he was unable to capture his first bracelet until just last night when he won the 27th event at the 2009 WSOP. Roland is one of the premiere pro poker players on the circuit right now and by far one of the best players from the UK.
The event he won was the $5K Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo and it definitely has a nice sized field of excellent Omaha poker players. There were 198 players who bought into this event and it took three days for the event to finish. In the past Roland has won both an EPT and WPT title so the only thing that was missing from a poker player’s viewpoint for Roland was the ultimate achievement which is a WSOP bracelet. Now that Roland has won a WSOP bracelet as well and completed pokers Triple Crown the only thing left for him to do would be to win the Main Event and the Player of the Year award.
The two players who played three handed with Roland are known to be better Omaha Hi/Lo players then Roland, but with some big bets and a little luck Roland was able to defeat them. Fifth and sixth place finishers Alex Kravchenko and Andy Black both finished the event very well and you should definitely recognize these two familiar names. Andy Bloch also should be noted as having an excellent tournament as he finished in thirteenth place this year in the 27th event.
The players who made the final table consist of the following players and the money they take home with them for their finish.
Roland de Wolfe - $246,616
Brett Richey - $152,618
Scott Clements - $101,063
Robert Campbell - $72,121
Alex Kravchenko - $53,881
Andy Black - $42,993
John Racener - $36,200
Armando Ruiz II - $32,105
Anthony Lellouche - $29,965
