Abe Mosseri Takes Down First Career WSOP Bracelet in $2.5K Limit Deuce to Seven Triple Draw

One of the last events leading up to the World Series of Poker Main Event was the $2.5K Limit Deuce to Seven Triple Draw which was event #55 this year. There were 257 poker players who took part in the event including some top name poker players such as John Juanda, Erick Lindgren, Barry Greenstein and numerous other pro poker players. Most of them were knocked out early on day one, but a couple of them made it deep into the tournament this year.
By day three of the event there were only nine players left who sat down to play out the final table. It didn’t take very long for the final table to be finished and the entire tournament was wrapped up six hours into day three. Abe Mosseri who has already cashed in one WSOP event was looking to do one better in this event and he played stellar poker. He never looked back the entire third day and nobody even came close to stopping him from taking down his first career WSOP bracelet.
His heads-up battle didn’t last long at all against Masayoshi Tanaka as Abe dominated the action. There is no doubt that we will be seeing a lot more of Abe in the next few years and it should be interesting to see how well he does in next year’s WSOP. Some of the players who made a deep run into the 55th event at the 2009 WSOP include Daniel Negreanu in 16th place, Hasan Habib in 18th place and Peter Hedlund in 11th place.
