Americas Cup of Poker Underway At PokerStars

The Americas Cup of Poker is the biggest event running over the next few weeks at PokerStars and players from sixteen different countries will have the chance to earn a spot on their nation’s team. If you reside in one of the sixteen countries taking part in the Americas Poker Cup then you’ll be able to play in qualifying tournaments at Poker Stars over the next few weeks.
The qualifying events will run everyday and they will range from freerolls to $5.50 tournaments. Every week you’ll be able to play in as many of the qualifying events as you would like and the goal is to earn as many points as you can for your country. The sixteen teams in the Americas Cup of Poker have already been split up into four groups and the top two countries will advance from each group. The top five players for each country will move onto the live event stage being held in Argentina. For the wildcard countries who needed to earn their spot in the Americas Cup of Poker only the top four players will move onto the live stage and the fifth player is the player who won the tournament which got the nation into the event.
The sixteen countries that have a chance to earn their spot in the live event in Argentina include United States, Mexico, Ecuador, Guatemala, Canada, Columbia, Uruguay, Panama, Chile, Venezuela, Peru, Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Honduras. In order to earn points towards your qualifying total you need to place in the top 100 of any of the qualifying events. The more you play, the more points you’ll earn and the better shot you’ll have at earning one of the five seats available to represent your nation at the Americas Cup of Poker.
