Hellmuth, Lederer, Negreanu & Others Make Appearances on Day 1C in WSOP Main Event

As expected the number of players that showed up for day 1c was incredible and quite larger then the previous two days. Almost 1700 players made it out to the two poker rooms in the Rio where the Main Event was taking place. Day 1c had a lot of great players in the mix including Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Howard Lederer and many others.
Since there were so many players on day 1c the tournament director decided that the players would play out five levels of the event instead of just four. The reason being was so that more players would be knocked out of the event, and it would help even out the group sizes. This is also the reason why there are more players with a big number of chips already when compared to day 1a and 1b.
Hellmuth is currently sitting at around 25K chips and is going to have a lot of work to do if he wants to stand a chance in the Main Event this year. He was doing well early on in day 1, but right before the end of the day he lost a lot of his chips in two hands against the same player. In the second hand Phil was outdrawn on the river and it sent him into one of his famous rants. Luckily for the players at the table and for Hellmuth, the day was coming to an end.
There are over 2x the amount of players in day 1c with 100K+ chips then in day 1a or day 1b so the chips are already spread out nicely. Joe Cada is currently in the lead in group C with 187K chips although there are plenty of players close to him. Some of the players that you will want to watch out for on day 2 of the Main Event for group C are Jeff Lisandro with 146K chips, Kelly Kim with 132K chips and Lee Watkinson with 91K chips.
