Matt Affleck Chip Leader after Day 4 of WSOP Main Event

Many pros had their WSOP Main Event dreams crushed on day 4 as it was another fast paced day that featured a ton of knockouts. The chip leader position changed as well on day 4 as Matt Affleck was able to take over the lead. There were 789 players who started day 4 of the Main Event and only 407 of them managed to make it through the day.
The players who are currently sitting well in the event include some of the big names like Dan Harrington, Bertrand Grospellier, Kenny Tran and Nick Shulman. All of these players have nice sized stacks going into day 5 and have a chance to make the final table if they continue picking up big pots the next couple days.
After the elimination of Kia Hamadani the remaining players in the tournament were now guaranteed to make money. Once it was announced that the players were now in the money there was a very loud cheer from the players still in the event.
Some of the big name poker players that were unable to make it through the day include Chris Ferguson, Greg Mueller, Paul Wasicka and Phil Hellmuth. After talking about Phil yesterday he was in good shape, but he just didn’t do very well today and was unable to make it through the day as he was eliminated right near the end of the day.
Matt Affleck as we mentioned is the chip leader who took it late in the day from Ludovic Lacay. Matt currently sits with a little over 1.8 million chips and Ludovic who is in second place currently has a little over 1.6 million chips. Were getting close and closer to the final 100 players and that is when things will really begin to heat up in the poker room.
