Tony Veckey Claims WSOP Bracelet in the Final $1.5K NL Holdem Event of the 2009 WSOP

In one of the final tournaments leading up to the 2009 WSOP Main Event, event #54 had a huge starting field of 2818 poker players. This was the last $1.5K NL Holdem Event of the 2009 WSOP which was most likely the reason for the large playing field. By day three of the tournament there were still 28 players left in the event, but it didn’t take that long for 18 of them to be knocked out of the event.
Once the final table had been set all of the players went on their dinner break before sitting down to complete the event. There were some good players in the bunch on the final table and it took a very good effort from Tony Veckey to claim the bracelet and the first place prize. Tony is one of the many players that have been playing aggressive poker at this year’s World Series of Poker and it seems to have worked for him. He made sure that when he played pots he was in control of the hand and was the player doing the betting.
Most of the players in the event were amateur poker players as the Main Event was to close in comparison to this event for the pros. It allowed for a lot of fresh faces to make the final table and those players include the following including how much money they each made in the tournament. As you can see few if any of those names will be familiar to any of you.
