Top Poker Players Surge through Day 2B at WSOP Main Event

Day 2B was simply a day that isn’t going to be forgotten for a long time and was an excellent experience for anyone who was able to take part in the event. All of the players from the latter two day 1 groupings joined together for day 2B and in total there were 2924 players who showed up with chips. The poker room only had enough tables set-up for roughly 2800 players so they actually need to set-up several other tables so that they could accommodate everyone.
There were a lot of eliminations on day 2B from the very beginning of the day to the very end of the day and it resulted in the elimination of over half the 2924 players who started the day. Some of the bigger name poker players who were knocked out of the Main Event on day 2B include Scotty Nguyen, Howard Lederer, Erick Lindgren and Victor Ramdin. Vanessa Rousso was also knocked out of the tournament today which was a shame because I really wanted to see her make it deep in the event.
Many of the biggest names in poker managed to surge on day 2B and have healthy chip stacks to start day 3. It should be interesting to see how many of the players can make it deep into the event. Some of the players who have healthy chip stacks to start out day 3 include Phil Ivey, Dan Harrington, David Benyamine and Justin Bonomo. The chip leader is Amir Lehavot and is currently sitting with 610K chips, which is almost double the amount of the leader from day 1A. There are 10 players with 301K-399K in chips after day 2B and another 5 players who have anywhere from 401K-499K in chips.
All of the players will meet up for day 3 and there won’t be any more groups. The Main Event should reach the money anytime now and the final table will be decided before we know it.
