2009 World Series of Poker Europe Caesars Cup

The 2009 World Series of Poker Europe is coming up this September and you don’t want to miss the action. For the first time ever there is going to be an event called the Caesars Cup which is going to feature only the best poker players from North America and Europe. The event is going to help determine what part of the world has the best poker players. Each team will have a total of eight players on it by the end of the selection process.
The captain for Team Americas is going to be Daniel Negreanu who happens to be the most well known Canadian poker player in the world. Daniel is going to make a great captain for the Americas team and I can’t wait to see who he selects for the team. Negreanu has already named several players to his team including Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth and John Juanda. All three of these poker players have a long list of poker achievements and they are definitely some of the best that the Americas have to offer. There still needs to be four more players selected for the Americas Team before the start of the tournament.
The captain for Team European is going to be Annette Obrestad. Annette is known to be one of the best MTT players in the world both online and live. She has already named three players to her team as well which include Peter Eastgate, Bertrand Grospellier and Dario Minieri. The European team is shaping up nicely, but I just don’t see how they are going to be able to beat Team Americas.
There is no doubt that Team Americas have a lot more experience then the European Team and it should be interesting to see how that affects the play. The event will be held September 26th 2009 in London so if you live in the region make sure you don’t miss it. One player from Europe will also be able to qualify for this event as there is one spot on the European Team for a qualifying player. In order to qualify for the one and only spot on the team you need to win the qualifying events being held at BetFair Poker.
