Deception PT Takes Home Title in 1st FTOPS XIII Event

As we talked about yesterday the FTOPS XIII started last night and the first event is in the bags. It was a great turnout for the first event considering that it was held on a Wednesday night and I’m sure if you were in the event that you thought the same. There ended up being 5712 players take part in the event and it lasted for the better part of last night.
The event was a NL Holdem tournament and the buy-in was $200 + $16 which understandably doesn’t fit into a lot of player’s bankrolls. One thing you can still do if you can’t really afford the buy-in is play in a satellite tournament where you’ll be able to earn seats into some of the remaining events. The event had a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million, but with the turnout that made it out to the tournament last night the guaranteed amount was exceeded. In all the prize pool totalled out at $1,142,400 and 720 players made some money for their efforts in the event.
Deception PT walked away with the title last night in the first event of the FTOPS XIII and for his efforts he earned a grand prize of $107,518.60 on an investment of just over $200. If you ask me that is quite the nice return for your money and why I’ve been advising everyone to try and take part in these events if at all possible.

There was a deal made in the event which is why Makaveli21 ended up winning more money in the event then Deception PT. Overall it was an outstanding start to FTOPS XIII and I can’t wait for the action to continue.
