Dermot Blain Wins Title at the APPT Macau Main Event

The PokerStars.net APPT Macau Main Event is now in the books and after a long day of poker Dermot Blain walked away victorious. Nine players came back to the tables today on day 4 to play out the remainder of the event. With a first place prize of over $500K there was no doubt that there was going to be some fireworks taking place in Macau.
The first player to be knocked out of the tournament at the final table was Stefan Hjorthall as he lost a hand against Blain. Soon after Blain took out Brandon Demes and was now the chip leader in the tournament. We had hopes to see Demes make a run in the tournament, but as we mentioned yesterday Brandon was going to need a double-up to have a chance. He got his money in the pot, but he didn’t win the hand and was sent to the rail.
The chip leader to start the final table was Daoxing Chen and he managed to finish the tournament in third place. Chen definitely showed a very weird style of poker over the past couple days, but it was good for third place. Overall I would say the tournament was a massive success as the playing field reached 429 players this year. Out of the starting playing field 48 players ended up cashing in the event which is a little over 10% of the starting playing field which is pretty high.
The players that made the final table finished the tournament in the following position starting from first place and ending with ninth place.
