Kyle Cheong Leads APPT Macau Main Event after Day 2

Kyle Cheong wasn’t one of the chip leaders going into day 2, but after a wonderful day of poker for Kyle he has managed to take over the chip lead in the APPT Macau Main Event. Cheong is sitting with roughly 575K chips and there is only one other player in the event with over 500K chips at this point.
Day 2 was filled was eliminations and there were some big names knocked out the Main Event. Both of the Hachem’s were knocked out of the event as well as Bertrand Grospellier. None of the three players listed above made the money in the tournament and I’m sure they are disappointed. Bertrand had a nice chip stack moving into day 2, but after some big hands didn’t go his way it cost him the tournament.
Some of the other players that have been eliminated from the tournament on day 2 include Jonathon Lin, Grant Levy, Raymond Wu and Celina Lin. All of these players are apart of Team PokerStars. Team PokerStars didn’t have a great day 2 at the APPT Macau and there will only be one member of the team left in the tournament for day 3. Both Tom Hall and David Chiu are in the top 5 chip stacks still after the day and they have been looking great. Winfred Yu and Theo Tran are both still in the tournament as well, but they are really low stacked and will need several all-ins if they want to stand a chance at the final table.

The High Rollers event is expected to have some big name players participate so it should be interesting to see who ended up making it out. |
