New Tom Dwan Challenge finds its First Competitor

Most of you by now have heard about the Tom Dwan and Patrick Antonius challenge that has been running for what seems like forever now. Tom Dwan has entered into another challenge though now and he has found his first competitor for the challenge. Dwan is probably the most well known young online poker player in the world and he has already been on lots of television shows and other forms of media.
The challenge that Dwan has developed this time is a lot smaller then his previous challenge and this one will actually be played live. The action will take place in London during the month of September so it isn’t far away at all. The player that took Tom up on his challenge is Sammy “Any Two” George. Sammy lives in London and plays a lot of online poker and has also appeared on several poker television shows. Sammy is known to be a very loose and aggressive player just like Dwan is so I can’t wait for the challenge to get underway.
The challenge this time is a simple heads-up match where no player is allowed to leave the table until they have played 500 hands or until a player is broke. Each player will buy-in for $500K and the winner will walk away with the full $1 million. The blinds for the heads-up match will be $500/$1000 and they will remain the same throughout the duration of the event. Tom is known for his crazy challenges and they have been able to keep him in the spotlight of the poker industry for some time now, but it’ll be interesting to see how he does. If he doesn’t win this challenge then I think it’s time to layoff the challenges for a bit. Sammy has already been quoted as saying that “Tom Dwan is nothing special” so I can’t wait to see the two players face-off against each other live in London.
