Top Two Players Make Deal in Sixth Event at FTOPS XIII

The sixth event at the Full Tilt Online Poker Series XIII was a Pot Limit Omaha 6Max tournament which was a pretty fast paced event. Typically when tournaments are run with six players on each table only the game runs a lot quicker because of the blinds coming around so often. There was a large turnout of 833 players for the event and it had a pretty large buy-in of $500 + $35.
Full Tilt Poker guaranteed that there would be at least $350K in the prize pool, but this was easily surpassed during the registration period. By the end of the registration the prize pool reached a total of $416,500 which would be split up amongst the top 102 finishers in the tournament. Eddy Scharf hosted the tournament, but was knocked out and didn’t make the money. Scott Clements finished the tournament in 97th place and won $791.35 and Johan Storakers almost made the final table, but finished short in 12th place, earning $4,914.70.
Only six players made the final table in this tournament due to it being a 6max tournament. There was also a deal made once the tournament was down to the final two players. Both of the players were close in chips and you’ll notice that the prize money they each won reflects this. It seems like almost every tournament has a deal cut before the end of the tournament these days. It’s new to a lot of poker players, but often players are not resistant to making the deal. After playing long hours of poker there is a lot of money on the line between the top positions so often a deal takes the pressure off of the players.
