Wei Cheng Chiang Walks Away From Day 1C at the APPT Macau Main Event Chip Leader

Day 1C brought a lot of the big name poker players out to the tables for the APPT Macau Main Event. With this being the last grouping for day 1 this was the last chance for players to enter the event. The day brought the biggest playing field and there are still about 80 players left from day 1c which is more then the previous two days. The chip leader after day 1c is Wei Cheng Chiang with roughly 125K chips although Tom Hall is close behind with 120K in chips.
Neither of these two players will be the chip leader to start off day 2, but they do have good sized stacks and should be able to make a nice push on day 2. Some of the other players from day 1c that made it through the day include Bertrand Grospellier, Theo Tran, Joe Hachem, Tony Hachem and David Saab. Joe and Theo both are sitting with over 40K in chips right now so with a couple big hands on day 2 they will be back in the hunt for the title.
Bertrand has been on a tear around the poker scene as of late and it seems like we’re always mentioning his name in every single tournament we report about. Bertrand currently has 65K chips so he is definitely sitting in a good position to start off day 2. All of the chip stacks are still really close together and day 2 is going to be the make it or break it day for most of the remaining players. With the levels moving up for day 2 a lot of the shorter stacks are going to need to make early moves tomorrow.
