Kahnawake Gaming Commission Finalize Ultimate Bet Cheating Scandal

It seems like a long time ago since the Ultimate Bet cheating scandal took place in the poker world, but just this week the KGC released their final report on the situation. The entire situation had already been dealt with by UltimateBet professionally and it had cost them a lot of money. Ultimate Bet needed to pay a fine of $1.5 million, but they also paid back every single player affected by the scandal.

Paying back every single player that was ever affected by the scandal cost Ultimate Bet right around $22 million. I’m glad that they took the initiative to pay back all of the money owed to players due to the scandal though as most poker rooms wouldn’t have done that and that’s what makes Ultimate Bet one of the great poker rooms to play with. If you didn’t follow the story then you might not now that Russ Hamilton is the main character behind the entire scheme.

The KGC recently announced in their report this week though that there have been 31 other players that were involved with the scheme to some extent. None of the other players have been named in the report yet, but we’re expecting to hear soon about some of the names. I’ve also read on some other websites that the names might include some recognizable players so this should be really interesting.

In total there were 117 usernames on UltimateBet that were able to cheat players out of millions of dollars over an extended period of time. It has been reported that most of the players and accounts involved in the case had some sort of interaction with Russ Hamilton and his accounts on Ultimate Bet. A lot of the money went through Russ Hamilton’s accounts from the other players and this has helped leave a trace to follow. It should be interesting to see what will happen to the players that have been named in the case although I’m not too sure what actually can be done to them.
