Partouche Poker Tour Main Event Underway in Cannes

The Palm Beach Casino in Cannes is full of poker pros and poker hopefuls looking to walk away with the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event championship. Several big name poker players made it out for day 1a which included over 200 players. Day 1a had long levels and there weren’t that many eliminations due to the deep starting chip stacks.
The current leader in the tournament after day 1a is Xavier Arnal with a little over 160K in chips. There are several other big name players still in the hunt for the title including Mike Matusow and Alex Kravenchenko. Matusow is sitting with almost 90K in chips and is near the top of the leaderboard at the moment. It would be great to see Mike win a tournament, but he often ends up suffering a bad beat at some point in most events.
Some of the big name players that started the day, but didn’t make it through to the end of the day include Phil Laak and his girlfriend Jennifer Tilly. Antonio Esfandiari was also knocked out of the event today and won’t be back for day 2. Roland De Wolfe is another player that wasn’t able to make it through the day today. Alain Roy was the winner of the event last year and he was knocked out today so there will definitely be a new winner at the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event this year.
Tomorrow will be the second day 1 grouping and it’s expected that there will be more players showing up tomorrow then today. The Palm Beach Casino has been recently redone and it now features many great amenities for their guests and is a great place to host a poker tournament.
