Christophe Savary Takes Home the Title at the WPT Marrakech Main Event

This was the very first time that a major poker event was held in Marrakech and it probably won’t be the last time as there was a great turnout for this event. Christophe Savary managed to win the WPT title this time around in the Marrakech Main Event. Throughout the final day of action Christophe really didn’t stand out as a player that would win the event because he was never really involved in that many big pots, but it turned out that his strategy worked out well. Savary managed to hit a huge full house near the end of the tournament against Ludovic Lacay and it completely changed the entire tournament.

Ludovic Lacay was the chip leader in the event for the better part of the final day, but after the huge hand against Savary he was all but finished. Lacay ended up finishing the event in third place and took home a nice payday for his efforts, but he definitely felt that he feel a bit short today as he could have won the tournament if it weren’t for the big hand against Savary. You can’t win all the bounces though, and Lacay definitely made a nice run in this WPT event.

The other players that made the final table are mostly unknown players. They all played very well though in this event as it wasn’t an easy road to make the final table. There were 416 players that entered in the tournament and with only 9 players making the final table it definitely wasn’t easy for the select few that made it.
