Tommy Vedes Wins $1.2 Million at the WPT Festa Al Lago

The World Poker Tour Festa Al Lago has been playing out over the course of this week at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. The event had a total of 275 players to start, but by yesterday there were only six players left and all of them were looking to win the title. The prize pool for the tournament was a massive $1.2 million for first place which is pretty big for a tournament like this one.

Tommy Vedes ended up winning the event after a long final table. The final table only featured six players and Tommy was probably the second most known player on the table. If you haven’t heard of Vedes in the past he finished this year’s WSOP Main Event in 19th place so he has been in big tournaments before. He used his experience in big tournaments this week in order to capture this tournament. The $1.2 million that Tommy won for his first place efforts is the biggest cash of his entire career thus far.

The most well known player on the final table yesterday was Freddy Deeb. Many people thought that Deeb might be able to win the tournament, but he ended up finishing in fourth place. Freddy has been playing in a lot of poker tournaments this year and has been finishing in the money consistently. Jason Lavallee finished the tournament in second place and looked like he might have a shot at winning the tournament. If it weren’t for the chip lead that Vedes held going into the heads-up battle I think it might have been a closer battle. The following players made up the six player final table yesterday at the WPT Festa Al Lago Event.
