2009 World Series of Poker Main Event Final Table Starts Tomorrow

If you’ve been waiting for the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event Final Table to kick-off you’ll no longer need to wait. The final table is going to start tomorrow at 12PM so make sure you check into the blog tomorrow so you can watch updates as the tournament progresses. Tomorrow should be a very exciting day of poker as there are quite a few short stacks on the table.

I don’t think it’s going to take very long for someone to be knocked out of the tournament and from there I expect the knockouts to keep coming. There are five players that are all right around 10 million in chips and with the blinds in the 100K+ range there really isn’t that much time for the players to find some hands. One thing that should be very interesting is how Darvin Moon plays tomorrow. I’m sure a lot of people expect him to come out slowly and play patiently, but I have a feeling he might increase his lead tomorrow.

Moon has been hitting cards the entire tournament and although they haven’t played in almost four months I don’t think his luck is going to change much. Darvin would definitely be atop my list of potential winners this year in the Main Event. He has is currently one of the favourites in the tournament on most betting sites as well. If you didn’t know you can bet on the final table up until the start of action tomorrow.

Most of the action thus far has come in on Ivey and Moon although there is some money on the underdogs as well. If I were going to bet on the final table I would most likely place a 1 unit bet on Ivey and Saout. I really like how Saout plays poker and I think he has a good chance at winning. With the current odds for Saout at +1600 it’s definitely worth a small bet. Another player to look out for is Joe Cada who currently has odds of +1250 to win.
