New Online Poker Records to Discuss

While some people believe that online poker is starting to slow down a bit, the same doesn’t hold true for players that frequent PokerStars. There have been a couple online poker records broken this month at Poker Stars and both of them will surprise most of you I’m sure.

The first record that was broken this month at Poker Stars was the record for the most poker players online at one time. On November 15th Poker Stars was running a special promotion to celebrate a milestone in the poker room and it helped break the record for the most players online at once. PokerStars changed the Sunday Million prize pool from a guaranteed $1 million to a guaranteed $2.5 million prize pool. With such a massive prize pool many players turned out for the event and in all there were roughly 317,000 poker players online at Poker Stars during one time.

The second record broken this month at PokerStars was an individual achievement which will shock most of you. Russian poker player Innerpsy decided that he wanted to try and beat the record for the most hands played in a 24 hour period. Innerpsy easily beat the record after playing a total of 40,088 hands. It also only took him about 18.5 hours of playing to beat the record and so he had about 5.5 hours to spare. After the gruelling session Innerpsy mentioned on 2+2 that he ended up losing quite a bit over the course of the session, but he is planning on doing it again with the intentions of posting a profit.

Other members on 2+2 are now talking about how they would like to beat the new record while posting a profit at the same time. I’m sure this record is going to be broken sooner then later so make sure you keep a look out on here as we’ll let you know once the Russian’s record has been broken. If any of you are members at Card Game Masters then you might have already heard about Innerpsy beating the record since it was being streamed over on their forums.
