Brian Townsend Suspended From FTP Red Pro Status

Since Isildur1 busted his bankroll on Full Tilt Poker there has been a lot of talk about the manner the money was won. Brian Townsend, Brian Hastings and Cole South have been involved in a scandal involving Isildur1. Full Tilt Poker has done an investigation into the matter and has suspended Brian Townsend from Red Pro status for one month. The reason why Townsend has been suspended is because he acquired hand histories of Isildur1 playing against other opponents and integrated them into his own hand history database.

Full Tilt states in there T&C that player’s aren’t allowed to use hand histories unless they were personally involved in the hand. Since Townsend acquired hand histories that he personally wasn’t involved in, he broke the rules set in place by Full Tilt and has been suspended. Hastings and South haven’t had any action taken against them because they apparently they never shared the hand history database that Townsend made. The three players only talked about different hands and strategies together which doesn’t break any of the Full Tilt Poker rules.

Many poker players throughout the online forums have been talking about this story endlessly. Many people are having trouble believing that Hastings and South never seen the hand history database. Some people are also speculating as to whether or not the three players ever played sessions together by allowing each other to view each others computer screens. The one month suspension by Full Tilt has also displeased many people. Townsend has already been suspended once and many people think his punishment should be stiffer.

Players are banned on Full Tilt Poker every single day for minuscule activities and some people think Townsend should also be banned. On the other hand, people are saying that this type of “data mining” takes place every single day on the high stakes poker tables and it just isn’t talked about. There are a few rumours out there at this time that Isildur1 will be filing a complaint with Full Tilt Poker over the matter soon. Isildur1 lost millions to these three players alone and part of the reason was because they had an unfair advantage in the sessions according to the FTP terms and conditions.
