PokerStars Sports Safari

With Christmas around the corner PokerStars is working hard at offering promotions for players in all parts of the world. One of the newest promotions that PokerStars has offered is the “Sports Safari” Event which is only open to players that reside in Canada. If you don’t live in Canada then you won’t be able to take part in this promotion, but there are lots of other promotions running at PokerStars right now.

The Sports Safari promotion is going to be an ongoing promotion from what I’ve heard, but the first leg of the promotion is underway. The Sports Safari Event will reward packages to the 2009/2010 Superbowl in Miami, Florida. The Superbowl this year will be played on February 7th 2010, but the Sports Safari tournament will be played on December 30th 2009.

In order to participate in the tournament you’ll have several options including buying into the event directly or earning a seat in one of the many satellite events. From now until the day of the event there will be satellite tournaments being played on PokerStars with a buy-in of a loonie or twoonie. The actual event only has a buy-in of $22 so it won’t hurt most players bankroll to buy-in to the tournament.

Depending on how many players participate in the tournament there might be multiple packages to be won on the 30th of this month. For every $10K in the prize pool there will be one package rewarded to the top finishers in the event. Each Sports Safari package includes two tickets to the Superbowl, three nights’ accommodations plus $1K for spending money while you’re in Miami.

It isn’t everyday that you have the chance to go to the Superbowl for $22 so make sure you don’t miss this event if you reside in Canada. Remember though, you need to live in Canada if you want to be able to play in this event.
