Changes to the PokerStars VIP Program for 2010

I meant to post about this earlier on the blog, but then with the 2010 PCA I ended up totally forgetting about this great news from the crew at PokerStars. If you haven’t already read about this news it’s going to make you happy. PokerStars has just changed the way their VIP Program is set-up for 2010 and it’s going to allow players of all levels to earn more rewards.

The best change to the program is the VIP Stellar Rewards which will help you add some money to your bankroll. All you need to do is earn 750 FPP’s in 2010 and PokerStars will add $10 to your account. If you play a lot of poker this year and reach 90K FPP’s then you’ll earn a $1000 for free from PokerStars. PokerStars has never given money out like this and it’s completely new for 2010. If you don’t already play with PokerStars this is the year to sign-up for an account.

Apart from the new VIP Stellar Rewards there have been some other small changes. The way that VPP’s are earned in the poker room has changed a bit and will allow tournament players to earn them quicker. PokerStars also changed the amount of VPP’s needed to get SilverStar VIP from 1200 VPP’s to only 750 VPP’s. There are going to be a lot more SilverStar VIP’s roaming around PokerStars this year and you can be one of them.

This year PokerStars will also be running sit and go tournaments with all of their Team PokerStars Pro players. If you want to play against one of the Team PokerStars Pros all you need to do is earn SilverStar VIP and purchase a ticket from the VIP Store. You might also remember the $75K weekly freerolls for GoldStar VIP’s – Supernova VIP’s? Instead of offering these tournaments every week PokerStars has decided to offer a $1,000,000 freeroll every three months.
