Claudius Secara Leads EPT Deauville Main Event after Day 4

As you guys already know from the blog posts on Thursday, the EPT Deauville Main Event is well underway. On Friday the remaining players made it out to the casino to play until there were only 133 players left. Day 2 mainly belonged to Ludovic Lacay until the end of the day when a couple players made late pushes and passed Lacay. Nicolas Levi ended up taking over the chip lead at the end of the day and will be back for day 3.

With hundreds of players being knocked out of the Main Event on day 2 you can bet there were some pros sent home. A few of the players eliminated from the tournament included Arnaud Mattern, Jean-Robert Bellande, Antoine Saout and Alex Kravchenko. Day 3 is also complete as it was played yesterday and the 133 players left in the event were narrowed down to only 24 players.

Teodor Caraba ended up taking a commanding chip lead on day 3 and finished the day with over 3 million in chips. Some of the remaining 24 players in the Main Event include Mike McDonald, Peter Eastgate, Bertrand Grospellier and Freddy Deeb. Ludovic Lacay, Juha Helppi and Luca Pagano were a few of the players that were knocked out of the event on day 3. Day 4 was played today and actually just finished up.

The remaining 24 players needed to be knocked down to only eight players. The final table will be played in Deauville tomorrow so we’ll be able to tell you who was crowned champion around this time tomorrow. The final table is going to be awesome tomorrow as there is plenty of talent on the table. Claudius Secara emerged as the chip leader after day 4 and will be in the lead to begin the final table tomorrow. The other players that will be trying to pass Secara tomorrow include Jake Cody, Michael Fratty, Teodor Caraba, Peter Eastgate, Craig Bergeron, Stephane Albertini and Mike McDonald.
