Phil Hellmuth Hires A Mindset Coach?

If you haven’t already heard the news, Phil Hellmuth has just hired a mindset coach who is going to try and help him deal with his emotions at the poker table. Hellmuth has hired Sam Chauhan who is a mindset coach that already has lots of experience working with poker players. Chauhan has seen some success coaching poker players in the past, so it should be interesting to see if he can help Phil out. To be honest, I haven’t seen Hellmuth at the top of any leaderboards lately so I think it was a good idea that he resorted to a mindset coach.

I’m sure that when Hellmuth goes off on other players at the poker table that it takes him off of his game. If Sam can help Phil keep a peaceful mind at the poker tables the entire tournament, it may actually help him. The other poker players that Sam Chauhan has already coached in the past include Gavin Smith, Antonio Esfandiari and Josh Arieh. All three of these players have had successful cashes in tournaments since being coached. Obviously we don’t know if the coaching had anything to do with it, but if Sam continues using his techniques to turn poker players into champions, I’m sure he’ll be around for awhile.

There definitely aren’t that people that would hire a mindset coach, but I can see why Sam has been doing well in the poker world. Poker players would spend practically anything if it would help them win more money at the felt. It will be interesting to see how Hellmuth does after his coaching sessions are over, but we’ll make sure to report it here. If Phil turns around and cashes over six figures like the three players above after being coached to control his emotions at the table, you can bet there will be even more poker player jumping on the mindset coaching bandwagon.
