Tom Marchese Victorious at 2010 NAPT Venetian Main Event

After five long days of poker the 2010 NAPT Venetian Main Event has come to an end. Tom Marchese has walked the victor after outplaying 871 other players in the tournament. As you guys already know from our earlier updates of this event there were a lot of pros in the playing field. None of the big name players ended up making it to the final table and most of them ended up playing in the High Rollers Event which we talked about yesterday.

Out of all the pros in the tournament Vanessa Rousso ended up doing the best with her 25th place finish and she ended up winning about $18K although I’m sure she wishes she could have made the final table. Eric Blair was the unlucky player to be knocked off the final table first and he walked away with about $60K. The rest of the players were all now guaranteed over six figures, but there was obviously a big gap still between 1st place and 7th place.

By the time the tournament went heads-up it was down to Tom Marchese and Sam Stein. Initially it looked like Stein was going to win the event, but by the end Tom managed to outplay Stein to win. Marchese play’s a lot of online poker and he said he might start playing more live poker to see if his results can continue. The action at the Venetian is still heating up as the final table of the High Rollers Event is being played today with lots of money on the line.
